dtSearch -- Text Retrieval -
Full Text Search Engine |
How dtSearch Works
dtSearch can instantly search gigabytes of text because it builds a
search index that stores the location of words in documents.
Indexing is easy — simply select folders or entire drives to index and
dtSearch does the rest.
dtSearch automatically recognizes and supports all popular file formats,
and never alters original files.
A single index can hold multiple gigabytes of text, and dtSearch can
create — and search with a single search request — an unlimited number
of indexes.
Since you may sometimes want to search files that dtSearch has not
indexed, dtSearch also does unndexed as well as "combination" searching.
Supports
"Office" (word processor, database, spreadsheet, presentation), email,
HTML, PDF, XML, ZIP, CSV, RTF, ANSI, Unicode files and more.

Password Managers-Freeware |
Password management
utilities have proliferated with the growth of the Internet and, as Web
users log on to more and more password-protected sites, have become almost
indispensable tools. These tools work, for the most part, by collecting your
usernames and passwords, along with associated documents and Web sites, and
then protecting the whole bundle with an encrypted master password. Whenever
you need a password, you start the management program (which stays in memory
and is accessible from Windows' icon tray), enter the master password, and
click on the username/password combination for that document or site. |
WhereIsIt |
WhereIsIt is an
application written for 32-bit Windows operating systems, designed to help
you maintain and organize a catalog of your computer media collection,
including CD-ROMs, audio CDs, diskettes, removable drives, hard drives,
network drives, DVDs, or any other media that Windows can access as a drive.
The most basic goal for WhereIsIt is to provide access to the contents of
any media you have from a cataloged database, even if the media itself is
not available on the system - you can browse lists of files and folders,
search by any criteria, use descriptions, thumbnails, categories, flags,
etc.
WhereIsIt can be used to handle any kind
of data, including downloaded programs, magazine CD-ROMs, music collections
like MP3s or audio CDs, graphics collections, document backups, etc.
WhereIsIt can handle lots of them, too, a couple hundreds or thousands disks
in a catalog is nothing unusual, yet catalogs remain reasonably small,
single-filed and easy to transfer or send to other users. You can also
create more than one catalog, and at any time open and work with as many
catalogs at once as needed.
WhereIsIt is easy to use for both
beginners and advanced users. It features a familiar and well thought-out,
Explorer-like user interface, combined with strong searching and reporting
capabilities, multi-language support, automated description and thumbnails
importing through extendable plugins from more than 70 different sources,
and much more.
During the last five years, more than 40.000 users have
chosen WhereIsIt.
